Vallejo Main Street’s new Executive Director.

Andrea Portillo-Knowles is a veteran of the United States Air Force. During her military service, she completed two tours of duty in the Middle East. Andrea has a wealth of experience as a DEI Consultant, business owner, and past Executive Director of Richmond Main Street. She also served as a District Director for the Boy Scouts of America, specializing in outreach and workforce development youth programs spanning several cities in the Bay Area.

Andrea, an alumna of Middle Georgia State University, was involved in several initiatives, including being a panelist for LEAP, A Pilot Project in African American Literature II, and UGA’s Women and Girls’ Conference, where she presented on the “Disparities in Education.” Furthermore, Andrea holds a Master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, specializing in organizational behavior and executive leadership. She is currently a PhD student in Organizational Psychology.

Andrea has served on several boards and commissions across the Bay Area. God, Family and Community are everything to her. In her spare time, she loves to cook, travel, and spend time with her family. She believes in “It Takes a Village” and looks forward to implementing that approach wherever she serves.
